We climbed the highest mountain in Minnesota as a quick detour during our trip to Wisconsin. We were headed from Bayfield in northern Wisconsin to the Mall of America in Minneapolis.

The summit

The hike took us through a portion of the Boundary Waters, a wilderness area that we might want to return to some day for a canoe trip. What Mike remembers best, however, is the contrast between the rugged woodland surroundings and the elegant couture and coiffure of the lovely lady walking ahead of him on the trail.
