High Point, New Jersey 1,803 feet |

We visited the aptly named High Point, New Jersey as part of a trip to New York City and southern New England. On the trip, we also visited the highpoints in Connecticut and Rhode Island.
The New Jersey highpoint is located in a park at the northeast tip of the state, almost to the New York state line. The park has pleasant picnic areas, a lake for swimming, and a nice tower marking the highpoint.
From the base of the tower we could see fine views of the New Jersey countryside. Since we visited in the morning, the glare from the sun made it hard to see into New York to the east.
From New Jersey we made our way across New York state to northeastern Connecticut and Mount Frisell.
P.S. If you read many of our highpoint adventures, you may start to notice how often the highest point in a state is right along the border with the higher state next door (e.g. Boundary Peak in Nevada, Mount Frissell in Connecticut, Panorama Point in Nebraska).
